Postcards from Vienna

“When you set out to take Vienna, take Vienna.” – Napoleon Bonaparte

What a city, Vienna! It is one of the most tranquil and civilized cities in the world!

Get a glimpse of the imperial grandeur by visiting the Belvedere, Schönbrunn and Hofburg palaces, or just walk through the old city centre starting from the Stephansplatz. The sound of music will follow you: Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, Liszt, Brahms and many others.

“The streets of Vienna are paved with culture, the streets of other cities with asphalt.” – Karl Kraus

Take a break in one of the beautiful coffee shops, savour Viennese coffee and taste the fresh baked bread. So good! For dinner try the traditional schnitzel with lots of beer.

“Vienna is a handsome, lively city, and pleases me exceedingly.” – Frederic Chopin

This is my fifth trip to Vienna, actually one day stop over between airplanes. Enjoy the photographs of the day and few more from the past.
